Soundtrack to dellavalle - A Band from East Rutherford
Jay Della Valle (born Jason Christopher Della Valle on August 19, 1979) is a rock and roll singer-songwriter from Wayne, NJ. His music has been described as Alternative Pop-Rock; "Our Lady Peace meets Ryan Adams- with a Mustache!" The Jersey Beat says "this is basic, tuneful, no-nonsense meat and potatoes rock executed with considerable skill, passion and conviction.” American Songwriter says Della Valle's music is "a perfectly pleasing pop-rock delight, done with a crisp, ringing, straightforward melodicism and total dearth of pretense that's genuinely refreshing to hear.” Jay Della Valle and his band have shared the stage with artists such as Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, Wilco, & Jesse Malin.

A musician since childhood, Della Valle's talent was nurtured from a young age by his father, a singer and bandleader in a wedding entertainment company. In 1998, while attending New York University, he joined the 8 piece Ska outfit, "The Offbeats." After the band evaporated, he sang in several groups before he settled into recording and performing his own music in 2002. Since then, he has worked with various producers, including Jon Berman (Ours, Avril Lavigne, Duncan Sheik), Chris Gibson (Quicksand, Slush Puppy), and Taylor McClam (Orange Nine Millimeter, Gavin Rossdale).

In 2005, Della Valle initiated "The Glorius Mustache Challenge"- A Film About the Under 30 Mustache. This documentary that he created, produced, and directed- sparked a revival of the mustache among men under 30 years old- and landed Della Valle and his cohorts on the cover of AM New York, live on the air during The Today Show, Good Morning America, Geraldo, and in The New York Times. (www.gloriusmustache.com) To high demand, the film was released in 2007 and secured distribution with Ocule Films in 2008.

In 2006, Della Valle released his first full length album, entitled "Pink Elephants," which he co-produced alongside Jon Berman and Jon Crane. In 2007, Della Valle followed up "Pink Elephants" with "Stay Gold," a 6 song EP he recorded with a new lineup of band members. He continues to record and tour, performing songs from both "Pink Elephants" and "Stay Gold."

Jay Della Valle is now working on a new music project, entitled "Hot Breath" with Producer/Engineer Taylor McClam. His first single "Legs So Long It's Crazy" is his first odyssey into the electronic dance rock realm. Expect to hear a hold new side of Della Valle with his upcoming Hot Breath project.
