Here we go again. The incredible Kali Uchis dropped a brand new video today of a cover song called "Por Que Te Vas". Kali is indestructible and lightyears ahead artistically. We're patiently waiting, well...anxious, to hear her debut album. In the meantime, pay close attention to Kali because I guarantee she has something explosive up her sleeve.
Los Angeles based White Arrows have just released a brand new video "Little Birds" from their debut album "Dry Land is not a Myth". White Arrows' music can be heard throughout MTV shows Awkward, Jersey Shore, and Snooki and JWOWW. Take a taste of the new video below
Los Angeles artist Kita Klane, who we featured late last year, has released a brand new video for her song "Running Circles". The video was shot in Los Angeles and directed by frequent collaborator Nic Harcourt. Running Circles is from her debut EP "In Love With The Enemy", now on iTunes. This song shines a bright light on Kita's songwriting with sultry & tough girl undertones. Fantastic.
Soundtrack is premiering a powerful new video 'Dress' from Joshua Michael Robinson. Dress is a song featured in tonight's episode of Awkward. at 10pm/9c on MTV. The video is shot at Joshua's home and it shows the depth and rawness of his songwriting.
Soundtrack caught up with L.A. pop artist Kady Z to talk about the meaning of the "Z" in her name and a few other burning questions
ST: What does the "Z" in your name stand for? And what are 3 other "Z" things you think represent you?
KZ: It's short for Zadora or sometimes when life just gets too crazy, Zoo. I would say Zed, cuz my friends call me Zed, Zero cuz "Less than Zero" is one of my favorite books and Xylophone, because I am a classically trained Xylophone player.
ST: Your debut album was called One Million Pieces, tell us what that title means to you.
KZ: Well the EP is about a breakup so it's literally about a heart breaking into a million pieces.
ST: Who was your favorite contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race when you were on the show?
KZ: Definitely Raven and Jujubee, even though they were on my team! I think they are perfect!!
ST: What is your favorite past/present MTV show?
KZ: Awkward because Ashley Rickards cracks me up and I think everyone can relate to feeling out of place at some point in their lives.
ST: If you can collaborate with anyone on your next album, who would it be?
