Soundtrack recently caught up with L.A. based duo Hunter Hunted. There was talk of the origin of the Band Name, A New Album, and the Chipmunks?

ST: What’s the story behind the band name, Hunter Hunted?  Did you know that when you Google image search that name it’s mostly video game pictures?

HH: One time, we saw these kids playing a nail biting game of sudden death-1-v-1 hide and seek. However, it was unclear who was supposed to be hiding and who was seeking… needless to say, things got weird… and awesome. That eventually segued perfectly into our name…

ST: When can we expect a full-length album?  Will it sound like the EP?

HH: We’ve always been fond of the year 2014. It’s just a very strong number. Even as kids, 2014 just really resonated with us. And it’s the year of the Horse according to the Chinese Zodiac. And people love horses. So expectations can be set and directed towards that year because it’s going to be awesome. As far as the sound goes… yes, it’ll sound like the EP, but better.

ST: Who is your “musical crush” (define how ever you’d like to) and why?

HH: The Chipmunks. Because I just want to crush them with my palm. But only after they’ve sung their Christmas Chipmunk song. It gets me every time. JK. We don’t believe in violence.

ST: Your music is found 100 years from now, how do you think people will react to it?

HH: Irving Berlin wrote Alexander’s Ragtime Band about 100 years ago. Every time I hear it, I want to put on my tap dancing shoes. If people 100 years from now want to tap dance to Hunter Hunted songs, I would not be mad.

ST: Between the two of you, who would be the hunter and who would be the hunted?

HH: Does a one-legged duck swim in circles? That should answer your question.

ST: What’s your favorite MTV show, past or present?

HH: TRL and Celebrity Deathmatch. Two shows that I aspired to be on growing up as a kid.
