(My Super Psycho Sweet 16 composer : Ben Lovett)
The man behind the music score of the latest MTV Film My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 3 is the multi-talented Ben Lovett. He spent his youth in rural Georgia and at the beginning of his college years made his way to Athens, Georgia. A college town with a rich history of bands such as R.E.M., the B52's, Pylon, The Swimming Pool Cues, and recently The Whigs. Ben set up shop utilizing his college tuition to purchase recording gear. He recorded bands in town and also played in various bands. He eventually made his way out to Los Angeles to pursue a bigger challenge and getting his feet wet in the music scene. He spent a short time in L.A. and decided to move on around 2007. He made his way back East, this time to the mountains of North Carolina, Somewhere in that time period he had a short stint in Spain. Eventually making his way back to where his journey began - Georgia.
Ben began releasing albums back in 2000. Following the release and production of several successful albums, he began composing music for films. His first film was called Last Goodbye starring Faye Dunaway and David Carradine. In 2009, Lovett won Best Score at the Brooklyn International Film Festival for his work on the film The Last Lullaby. Suffice to say, Lovett has been busy and well sought after. That same year (2009) Lovett was tapped to score the first of the three My Super Psycho Sweet 16 films. Subsequently, Lovett was eagerly asked to handle the scores of all three My Super Psycho Sweet 16 movies.
